This isn't a tutorial, I figured one wouldn't be super necessary. All I did was wash her hair, let it dry completely, and then patiently combed through and flat ironed tiny chunks. The occasion was picture day, so I thought we'd give the whole straight & curled look a try and I'm almost not surprised at how well the CHI worked! ReplyDeleteObviously you've never touched hair like that. It's not like you can part hair that thick like you can part anyone one else's. Her hair was straight before and after, CHI makes it so the flatter straighter hair is more manageable.

ReplyDeleteYou may already know this (your video was in 09) but I use a chi iron, I also use a product line called "Mixes Chicks"(shampoo and conditioners), and paul mitchel heat seal(while wet), and redken smoothdown "heat glide for the rough ends(when dry and before the chi iron). also Mixed chicks has a straighten product that dries the hair in like half the time (instead of paul mitchel). Her hair looks so cute. it is hard to get a child to sit still that long, however it get easier as they get older.

So cute! I have some crazy thick curly hair and love Chi. Just nice to switch it up every once in a while. And I assume if you have done it again to her that the the time has dropped dramatically.

ReplyDeleteOk I'm going to be very honest and at the same time try not to be offensive, Why did it take so long 1 hour and 45 minutes to straighten her hair and have it still come out looking poofy ? Her hair wasn't even straight it was more like poofy straightish . Did it look better than what it did? Yes. But for spending an hour and 45 minutes I would have expected it to come out way better than that. If this is proof that the Chi works I won't be getting a Chi if that is what the end result is like.

ReplyDeletePeople get me when they say that if a person flat irons or perma their hair they are not embracing their natural roots. I'm natural and I straighten my hair sometimes I don't that's the beauty of African American hair you can do so many things. And FYI if a girl like to wear makeup does that mean she doesn't like the way she looks? I don't think so.
