Hello. Thank you for the video. Was wondering how to check for a bad fuse? Do you have any videos of that? My CHI won't turn on, and this is the third CHI I have bought. I am getting tired of having to keep buying new ones. And of course they always break AFTER the warranty is up.
For what it's worth...Wife reported CHI is not turning on and no problems in days leading up to this sudden stoppage. Opened it up and found no loose connections, but I did find traces of water. Turns out our 21 mon old had been playing w/ water around the sink where the CHI was sitting (unplugged, of course) and had apparently gotten water inside. I let it air out for a while and plugged it back in and it works.
okayy What should iDoo Pls reply.. i Had just pluqed in my chi, and then i turn on the switch, and iHear like a pop and iSeen a red spark. and then it smelled burned. wat do you think happened. and it just happened riqht noww.. plss helpp..

omg thank you so much ur awsome i bought my chi for 150 dollars a 4 month a ago and it sopped working and when i saw this i was like ill try it and it worked !!!!!! thankxxx so much i wish i had seen this before i bought a new flat iorn but anwaythank you thankyou thankyou so much!!!!!
all of a sudden my chi wouldnt turn on...the red lightbulb turns on for 10 seconds if i press the plates together but then it turns off...idk what to do and I'm only 14 so I'm scared to unscrew it because i dont want to get shocked
thank you very much! well i had 2 chi, one is to old and the new one doesn't work, yesterday i try to repair the plug and i just broken de plug, today i saw your video and i open both chi and just changed the cord =D (sorry for my english)
do you have an extra plate? My girlfriend's will fall out and will not stay in. I'm not sure if glue would work because of the heat. Any ideas? Thanks

ReplyDeleteMy mums had a broken cord, and all I had to do was wipe some of the buildup off the metal contacts, see if this helps you

ReplyDeleteI stepped on my Chi and it broke apart and the metal coil disconnected... How did you manage to put it back together? It seems impossible
ReplyDeleteyour problem is with one of the heating element wires. the wire either broke loose from the circuit board or on the actual ceramic plate.
