    yes i did. its just from using to high of heat which sucks with this curler cause the heat is so high but i got rid of the smell by just spraying my heat protecter (which smells amazing!) very lightly on my finished hair and the smell went away. you can also very lightly spray perfume. my hair also smells burnt after i use my crimper so its really not a big deal.
